The Bemidji State University women’s soccer team improved to 3-0-1 in NSIC play after a 1-0 shutout win over visiting Winona State University on Sunday afternoon at Chet Anderson Stadium.
Sophomore forward Sarah Wendt capitalized on a corner kick from senior midfielder Melanie Peltier at the 58th minute to put the Beavers ahead 1 nil. The header goal was Wendt’s third score of the season.
BSU again split it’s goalkeeping duties between junior Emma Riedi & freshman Alyssa Stumbaugh. Riedi was perfect in the first half only having to make one save, while Stumbaugh entered the second half and was credited with the win after making four saves.
Bemidji State travels south to play the University of Sioux Falls on Friday and Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday for a pair of Northern Sun matches.
