The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team will open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference interdivisional games Dec. 13-14 against Wayne State College and Augustana University.
The Beavers open the weekend with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off Friday against the Wildcats.
The Series vs. Wayne State
- Wayne State leads the all-time series against Bemidji State, 28-23.
- The series began Dec. 30, 1973, a 71-58 win by Bemidji State at the Wayne State Invitational.
- BSU has won four of the last five games against WSC, while the Wildcats took the lone matchup last season, 75-59, in Wayne, Neb.
- Junior forward Derek Thompson led BSU with 12 points against WSC last season, shooting 4-of-8 from the field and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. He pulled down five rebounds and added one assist. Sophomore guard Max Bjorklund scored seven points off the bench during his seventh career game.
- Bemidji State took a road split Dec. 6-7 with an 81-73 loss at Northern State University and a 79-67 win at Minnesota State University Moorhead. The Beavers enter the weekend 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC.
- Wayne State posted back-to-back victories last weekend at home against Upper Iowa University, 88-69, and Winona State University, 70-63. The Wildcats enter the weekend 5-6 overall and 2-1 in the NSIC.
