The Bemidji State University and University of Minnesota Crookston women’s basketball teams close out their regular-season series at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 in Bemidji, Minn. The Beavers are going for a season sweep of the Golden Eagles, while looking to finish the 2019 calendar year on a winning streak.
The Series vs UMC
~Bemidji State holds the lead in the all-time series against Minnesota Crookston, 23-22, after taking a 72-50 win in the opening game of the 2019-20 season series.
~The series began on Jan. 6, 1996, a 101-58 win by Bemidji State.
~The Beavers took their first win against the Golden Eagles since Dec. 16, 2017 to open the conference schedule. The victory was BSU’s first conference-opening win since Dec. 1, 2012, which also came against UMC.
~Junior guard Brooklyn Bachmann, junior center Taylor Bray and sophomore guard Trinity Myer combined to score 44 points against the Golden Eagles earlier this season, led by Bachmann with 17 points. She went 6-of-6 from the free throw line while adding five rebounds and one assist. Bray scored 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
BSU took a split at home last weekend with an 87-82 loss to Wayne State College and a 74-57 win over Augustana University.
UMC earned its first win in conference play with a weekend split against Augustana and Wayne State. The Golden Eagles opened last weekend with a 63-54 loss to AU before taking a 66-65 win from WSC at home.
