Beavers drop pair versus Northern State and Minot State
The Bemidji State University softball team fell to Northern State University and Minot State University to close out the final day at the Air-Supported Dome Invitational in Minot, N.D., Sunday afternoon. The Beavers fell to Northern State 11-5 and then fell to Minot State 9-0 in five innings. Bemidji State is now 2-4 on the season.
Bemidji State totaled seven hits in game one of the day versus the Wolves and were paced by senior Lisa Kossan who went 2-for-4 at the plate. Senior Lexi Derrick batted 1-for-3 with a three-run home run while senior Sami Dullum went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Junior Kaidron McClafferty earned the loss after pitching 4.0 innings in relief of freshman Stella Dolan and falls to 0-1 on the season.
Bemidji State was held to just two hits in game two while the Beavers of Minot State recorded 12 hits en route to a 9-0 win in five innings.
Senior Gabi Bingham and junior Elaina Christiansen recorded the lone hits for the Beavers.
Redshirt freshman Kyla Damerow earned the loss in the circle after pitching four innings and allowed seven runs (four earned) off of 11 hits and had four strikeouts.
Bemidji State will have this weekend off and will look to bounce back Tuesday, March 2-3 when they travel to West St. Paul, Minn., to face Minnesota State University, Moorhead and Winona State University.
