Bemidji State hosts Minot State to begin NSIC North schedule
Bemidji State University football remains at home for the second straight week Saturday, Oct. 2 to open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division schedule against Minot State University. The annual Beaver Bash is set for 2 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium as BSU will recognize 13 seniors during a pregame Senior Day presentation.
Bemidji State leads the all-time series, 20-1. BSU leads the all-time series in Bemidji, 9-1, as its only loss in the series came at home against MSU, 35-28, in 2002. Bemidji State won the most recent matchup, 66-30, on Nov. 16, 2019. BSU recorded 948 all-purpose yards, including a program single-game record 758 total offensive yards.
BSU totaled a 100-yard rusher (Jalen Frye/316 yards), 100-yard receiver (Brendan Beaulieu/123 yards) and a 300-yard passer (Emmett Enright/325 yards) against MSU in 2019, marking the second instance for BSU hitting all three milestones in a single game that season. Prior to the 2019 season, the last time Bemidji State accomplished this feat once was in 2004.
Including Frye’s 316 rushing yards in 2019 (3 yards shy of the BSU single-game record), Bemidji State has recorded five straight games with a 100-yard running back against Minot State. Since 2000, BSU has totaled 13 100-yard rushing performances.
Bemidji State and Minot State’s meeting on Nov. 16, 2019 was the last for both teams before the cancellation of the 2020 season due to COVID-19.
The series first began on Sept. 4, 1999, a 28-7 win by BSU in Bemidji.
