Beavers fall 3-0 at No. 12 St. Cloud State

Bemidji State University senior Anna Averkamp led the Bemidji State volleyball team with 12 kills but the Beavers fell to No. 12 St. Cloud State University 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 25-14) Tuesday night.

The Beavers fall to 2-22 (2-14 NSIC) on the season while the Huskies improve to 20-4 (15-1 NSIC).

Bemidji State totaled 28 kills in the match and hit .163 (28-14-86) as a team and were paced by Averkamp’s 12 kills while hitting at a .276 (12-4-29) clip. Following Averkamp was sophomore Rilee Michaelson with six kills (.100, 6-4-20) while freshman Lauren Sitter added four and hit a team-high .571 (4-0-7).

Setting the ball and making her return to the court was redshirt junior Maddie Mackinac who was sidelined due to injury. She led the Beavers’ attack with 14 assists while freshman Emily Waded followed with nine.

Sophomore Madison Weyker led the Beavers’ defense with 13 digs in the back court while junior Meeghen Dahlager followed with seven.

Bemidji State returns to action this weekend to host its final home matches of the season and will host No. 13 Wayne State College and Augsutana University Friday and Saturday. The Beavers will honor its parents and seniors in part of Parents Night Friday and Senior Day Saturday.
