Beavers head to final regular-season series
The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team will travel to Mankato, Minn. this weekend to close out the regular season versus the Minnesota State University Mankato Mavericks. Hosted at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, games will be at 3:01 pm Friday, Feb. 18 and 2:01 pm Saturday, Feb. 19.

The Beavers hold a 11-16-3 overall record this season with eight wins, 16 losses, and two ties in WCHA play.
While on the road, the Beavers have marked a 5-8-1 record during the 2021-22 regular season.
Most recently, the Beavers hosted No. 2/3 the Ohio State University Buckeyes to close out regular season home ice at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn. BSU and OSU split the series with a Bemidji State win, 3-2, on Friday and Ohio State win, 8-1, Saturday.
The last time the Beavers and Mavericks met, the Beavers took game one 3-2. Game two went into a shootout after a 1-1 tie after regulation. MSU’s Sydney Langseth earned the shootout win for the Mavericks.
BSU needs to earn at least four points versus MSU in order to top them in WCHA rankings and earn the fifth-place spot heading into the playoffs.
If BSU finds four points this weekend, the Beavers will play the fifth-place team and MSU will play whoever takes the third place position between Ohio State and University of Wisconsin. OSU and UW play each other this weekend and the team who ends with at least four points will take second-place.
