Beaver Baseball to play four-game series Feb. 26-27 at William Jewell
Bemidji State University baseball continues its 2022 campaign Feb. 26-27 with a four-game series at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. The Beavers and Hawks open doubleheaders at 12 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at Fountain Bluff Sports Complex.

Bemidji State was swept during its season-opening four-game series Feb. 19-20 at Rockhurst University. The Beavers and Hawks series was moved from Kansas City, Mo., to Omaha, Neb., and played at Creighton Prep Baseball Field.
All three of BSU’s losses were decided by three runs or fewer, taking losses of 1-0, 6-4, 4-1 and 8-7.
The Beavers are averaging 3.0 runs per game and hitting .188 with a .321 slugging percentage and a .295 on-base percentage. BSU went 4-of-4 in stolen base attempts and caught RU stealing on 2-of-5 stolen base attempts.
BSU’s pitching staff holds a 6.23 ERA, an opposing batting average of .287 and 25 strikeouts to 11 walks.
Senior Parker Borg led BSU with six hits in the series against RU and also led with 12 total bases, five runs scored, three RBI, two home runs, a .923 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage. Borg totaled three two-hit games and recorded a home run during each of the final two games of the series. He also threw 2.0 innings with one strikeout, two walks, no hits and no runs allowed during the series finale.
Senior Sam Kalberer and junior Kyle Ellis each recorded a home run in the series.
Sophomore Will Lavin threw 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts in the season opener, finishing one strikeout shy of tying a career high.
