Beavers fall in doubleheader at Winona State
The Bemidji State University softball team lost both of its games at Winona State University Sunday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play. The Beavers fell in game one to the Warriors by a score of 7-2 and then fell 5-1 in game two.
The Beavers were held to just four hits in game one with Alexa Christenson, Mariah Stevenson, Elaina Christiansen and Ashley Herold all recording hits. Stevenson and Christiansen each drove in the Beavers’ lone runs of the game in the 7-2 loss.
Redshirt sophomore Kyla Damerow started the game and pitched three innings and allowed five runs off five hits to fall to 1-4 this season. She was replaced in the fourth inning by sophomore Stella Dolan who allowed two runs off five hits in four innings.
The Beavers were held to three hits in game two and were led by Emmarie Yeager who went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Johnna Seriano collected the Beavers’ lone RBI in the game.
Senior Kaidron McClafferty pitched 5.1 innings and falls to 3-8 this season after allowing 11 hits, five runs and had one strikeout. She was replaced by Dolan who pitched 1.2 innings and didn’t allow a hit.
Bemidji State falls to 7-23 on the season and are now 4-6 in NSIC play.
The Beavers continue play on the road this week and will travel to University of Minnesota Duluth for a doubleheader Tuesday.
