Corbid leads Beavers at BSU Invite
Bemidji State University senior Ben Corbid carded two-under par 142 (67-75) to tie for fifth individually and lead the Bemidji State men’s golf team to a sixth-place finish at the BSU Invite held at The Bemidji Town and Country Club in Bemidji, Minn.
The Beavers shot a team score of 593 (290-303) to finish sixth and two strokes behind fifth place, Concordia College. Concordia University-St. Paul took home the team title and carded a team score of 565 (287-278) and finished 22 strokes in front of second place University of Minnesota, Crookston.
Following Corbid was freshman Rylin Petry who carded one-under par 143 (72-71) to tie for eighth individually while Seth Schricker (79-76=155), Jack Southard (75-81=156) and Gus Vatnsdal (76-82=158) rounded out the Beavers’ five scorers. BSU had also six others competed as individuals: Tate Usher (76,71=147), Caden Lick (74,75=149), Logan Schoepp (76,73=149), Koby Kuenzel (76,75=151), TJ Raden (74,78=152) and Alex Iverson (84,80=164).
Concordia-St. Paul’s Brandon Sperling took home the individual title with a nine-under par 135 (68-67) to finish four strokes in front of second place Devin Kucy and Jacob Stewart.
The Beavers head to Muskogee, Okla., to compete in the NSU Invite on September 19 and 20.
