BSU host No. 3 Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State this weekend

The Bemidji State University volleyball team will play host for two more games this week as No. 3 Concordia University-St. Paul and Minnesota State University, Mankato travel to Bemidji.

The Beavers (3-14, 2-7 NSIC) will start competition with the Golden Bears (15-2, 8-1 NSIC) on Friday, Oct. 7. The following morning the Beavers will take on the Mavericks (4-13, 3-6 NSIC).

The action between Bemidji State and Concordia-St. Paul will start at 6:00 p.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m., start against Minnesota State, Saturday. Live stats can be found here.

Junior Hallie Mertz has paced the Beavers this season tallying 171 kills and averages 2.80 k/s. She is followed by sophomore Lauren Sitter and senior Ashley East who each have 95 and 83 kills, respectively.

The Beavers have split setting duties between sophomore Emily Wade and freshman Hally Holker. Holker has assisted in 256 points and Wade is right behind her with 244.

On defense, junior Lauren Justesen leads BSU with 154 digs with a 3.95 d/s average in 39 sets played. Following Justesen is Ashley Crowl with 140 digs in her 59 sets played. Junior Rylie Bjerklie leads BSU at the net with 39 blocks while senior Rylee Pompa has been a part of 29. Bemidji opponents have not fared as well at the net against the Beavers. BSU is ranked third in opponent blocks with 1.44 per set.
