The Bemidji State Women’s Golf team returns to the course next week at the SMSU Spring Invite in Arizona. In their last action, the Beavers finished 11th out of 13 teams at the Mustang Invite in Marshall, Minn., at the Marshall Golf Club, Sunday afternoon.
Leading the Beavers and tying her career low was sophomore Katie LeBlanc shooting 165 (84-81) tying for 27th out of 82 golfers. This is the second tournament in a row LeBlanc finished with 165 strokes.
As a team BSU finished with a score of 686 (352-334) finishing 11th amongst the 13 competing teams. Augustana won the tournament tallying 616 strokes (310-306) while Minnesota State finished 20 strokes behind them in second place (320-316=636). Molly Stevens from Augustana finished first in the Mustang Invite shooting 148 (76-72), behind her was Gustavus Adolphus’ Annika Reierson finishing a stroke behind (72-77=149).
Three strokes behind LeBlanc was junior Molly Albrecht (86-82-168) tying her for 36th. Maddy Sawyer (90-83=173), Savannah Byfuglien (92-88=180) and Vaida Behnke (101-98=199) rounded out the team for the beavers. Competing as an individually was Izzy Depew (100-95=195).
