The Bemidji State Men’s Golf team returns to the course next week at the MSU Mankato Spring Invite in Arizona. In their last action in the fall, the Beavers finished third after shooting 889 (293-299-297) in the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kan., held at the Topeka Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The Beavers were led by senior Ben Corbid who tied for sixth while shooting 217 (68-75-74) on the par-71 course.
BSU finished seven strokes behind the second-place team Missouri Western State University (292-294-296=882) and Washburn University won the tournament by shooting 869 (286-284-299). Jeffery Johnson from Missouri Western State won the tournament shooting three-under par and Dawson Wills was the only other golfer to finish under-par at two-under.
Tying for the second spot for Bemidji State and 17thin the tournament were Jack Southard and Logan Schoepp with a score of 225, they shot 72-77-76 and 77-74-74, respectively. Two strokes behind them was freshman Rylin Petry shooting 227 (76-78-73). Rounding out the top five was sophomore Tate Usher with 238 (86-73-79). Competing as in individual was Koby Kuenzel who finished tied for 32nd with 231(77-78-76).
