Bjerklie named Second Team All-NSIC

Bjerklie is first Beaver since 2016 named All-Conference

Senior middle blocker Rylie Bjerklie has put together a top season in the best NCAA Division II volleyball conference in the nation and on Thursday was named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Second Team.

Bjerklie has helped the Beavers to their best season since 2010 and enters the final weekend of the regular season posting 221 kills, and 57 blocks in 90 sets. Bjerklie is hitting .369 which ranks fourth in the NSIC and is 34th nationally.

Bjerklie has multiple kills in every match this season, reaching at least 10 in nine matches, with a career-high 19 kills coming in the five-set battle against Augustana. She has multiple blocks in 17 matches, with a high of six against Western Colorado. Bjerklie has tallied a hitting percentage at .300 or above 15 times, reaching .600 three different times with a high of .667 against Minot State.

Bjerklie becomes the first Beaver since Jessica Yost in 2016 to be named All-NSIC, which was also a Second Team selection.

Bemidji State concludes the 2023 regular season this weekend in North Dakota against Minot State on Friday at 6 p.m. and Mary on Saturday at 2 p.m.
