Freshman goaltender Eva Filippova stopped a career-high 41 shots but the Bemidji State University Women’s Hockey team fell 5-0 to No. 2 Ohio State University last Saturday afternoon in their series finale at Sanford Center.
The Beavers were out-shot 46-11 by the second-ranked Buckeyes (9-1-0, 8-0-0 WCHA) with Filippova stopping 41 shots in her first start at Sanford Center of her career.
Most of the Beavers’ shots in came in the first period after BSU came out with more energy than the night before to total seven shots on goal in the opening frame.
Filippova falls to 0-3-0 on the season in her second start of her career while the Beavers fall to 0-11-1 (0-8-0 WCHA).
Bemidji State will have this upcoming weekend off from competition with its bye week and will next host Minnesota State University, Mankato at Sanford Center, Nov. 17-18.
