Cobb and Hansen garner AP All-American honors

Senior offensive tackle Ty Cobb and redshirt sophomore defensive end Marcus Hansen were each named to the Associated Press All-America Teams on Wednesday. Cobb was named First Team, while Hansen was tabbed Second Team.

This is a second straight AP All-America accolade for Cobb after being named Second Team in 2022. Both Cobb and Hansen were recently named D2CCA All-Super Region 4.

Cobb was recently selected First Team All-Super Region 4 for a third consecutive season. Cobb started all 12 games this season and helped an offense average 30.50 points per game and 399.2 total yards per game. He was named to the All-NSIC First Team once again this season and finishes his career starting 38 straight games. In over 1,400 pro snaps, Cobb allowed only four sacks throughout his career. Last year, he went on to earn All-America honors from D2CCA being selected to the Second Team in addition to the AP accolades.

Hansen, the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year, led the conference in tackles for loss and sacks during the regular season. He started all 12 games and finished with 19 tackles for loss and 10 sacks, along with 51 tackles, 31 solo stops. Hansen forced three fumbles and had eight quarterback hurries. Hansen had a tackle for loss in 11 games, with multiple tackles for loss in six games with a high of four. He added a sack in seven games. He was recently selected to the First Team D2CCA All-Super Region 4 squad as well.
