BSU Track & Field set to compete at NSIC Indoor Championships Friday-Saturday

Beavers travel to Mankato, Minn. For NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships

The Bemidji State University Women’s Track & Field team will travel to Mankato, Minn., this weekend to participate in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women’s Indoor Championships at Myers Field House Friday, Feb. 23 through Saturday.

Events begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with heptathlon events followed by field events at noon and track events at 1 p.m. Saturday has a 9 a.m. pentathlon start followed by heptathlon events at 9:45 a.m. Field finals begin at 1 p.m. followed by track finals at 1:30 p.m.

Fans attending the championship can purchase tickets at the door the day of the event (prices listed below). For fans that cannot make it to Mankato, events will be streamed on the NSIC Network for a charge of $10 per day. Fans are encouraged to purchase access prior to the start of events as an account will need to be set up in order to access the championship. Last week the Beavers hosted St. Cloud State University in the Gillette Wellness Center in a two-team meet which saw much success for the Beavers. BSU would come away with 10 event wins, with Janice Cole taking first in three events, the 60-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter. Other Beavers with event wins included Mary Goodwin in the 1,000-meter, Carol Miller in the mile, Nadia Vaughn in the 3,000-meter, Olivia Olson in the pole vault and Tierra Doss in the shot put.

Natalie Fultz would also take first place in the long jump, setting a personal record (17-01.25). Also taking first place in their event was Mikenna Pattrin in the weight throw, setting a season best (52-01.75).
