Beavers travel south for NSIC Women’s Golf Championship

BSU Women’s Golf to compete at 54-hole championship Friday-Sunday

The Bemidji State University Women’s Golf team gets its championship season underway this weekend and travels to Smithville, Mo., to compete at the 2023-24 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women’s Golf Championship April 26-28.

The Beavers will compete at the par-72, 5,950-yard Paradise Pointe Golf Complex – Outlaw Golf Course for the 54-hole, three day tournament for an automatic bid into the NCAA Regional.

Bemidji State will be sending senior Maddy Sawyer, freshman Elli Anderson, freshman Haylee Kammann, junior Savannah Byfuglien and freshman Nakomis Mitchell to compete at the tournament.

Sawyer paces the group with a season scoring average of 89.7 through 14 rounds. Anderson is close behind with a 90.3 scoring average through 16 rounds while Kammann (91.4), Byfuglien (93.0) and Mitchell (98.8) each follow.

The Beavers are coming off the Wildcat Classic on April 15 where Byfuglien paced the team to a 13th finish shooting 179 (87-92).
