Beaver Battle set for home finale at BSU Baseball Field Wednesday
BSU Baseball to host Minot State for final home series Wednesday
The Bemidji State University Baseball team plays its final home series of the 2024 season Wednesday afternoon and hosts Minot State University for a “Beaver Battle” at the BSU Baseball Field.
BSU hosts Minot State for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 1.
Senior Jack Munson paces the Beavers batting .314 and has started all 45 games. In 153 at bats, he has produced 48 hits including 10 doubles, eight home runs and has driven in 23 runs. Munson has been on a hot streak over the last 10 games batting .471, slugging 1.029 and has an on-base percentage of .514 for an OPS of 1.543.
Munson is followed by junior Hunter Daymond who is batting .266 with 29 hits in 109 at bats and is the toughest to strikeout in the NSIC boasting a strikeout percentage of 6.42. He is batting .346 over the last 10 games and has reached base in the last six.
Junior Derek Hoffman leads the Beavers’ pitching staff with 31.1 innings pitched but has been sidelined due to injury. He is followed by junior Brandon Lind who has pitched 28.2 innings and is 1-4 with an 8.16 ERA. Over his last two starts, Lind is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA and has struck out 10 while holding opposing hitters to just a .263 batting average.
The Beavers end the 2024 season on the road at St. Cloud State University, Friday and Saturday.
