BSU Women’s Soccer looks to get into win column with two matches at Upper Iowa
The Bemidji State University Women’s Soccer team makes its first road trip of the 2024 season and travels to the campus of Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa for a pair of non-conference matches against Quincy University and Upper Iowa, Friday-Sunday.
The Beavers begin the weekend against Quincy Friday, Sept. 13 at 5:00 p.m. BSU then faces former Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Upper Iowa Sunday at Noon. A live stream and stats for each match can be found, here.
The Beavers are looking to bounce back from a pair of home losses this past weekend at Chet Anderson Stadium after falling to Missouri Western State University and Drury University in a pair of 1-0 matches.
The Hawks also enter the weekend’s action 0-2 to start the season while the Peacocks tied their home opener against Winona State University last Sunday, 2-2 and sit 0-0-1 ahead of the weekend.
Bemidji State looks to get onto the scoresheet for the first time this season but are led by freshman Madisen Fritel who has totaled three shots. Graduate Sonia Alfieri made 10 saves in her first two collegiate matches for the Beavers and has posted a 1.00 goals against average and .833 save percentage.
Friday’s matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the Beavers and Hawks while Sunday’s match against UIU will be the 20th with BSU owning a 14-5-0 all-time record against the Peacocks.
