Beaver Football Gameday #7 – October 10, 2026 – vs Wayne State

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University Football is set to host (RV) Wayne State College Saturday, October 10 at 1 p.m. Both teams will be looking to head into the bye-week break with an additional win, gearing up for final four divisional matchups after the break.

BSU NOTES

* Bemidji State heads into the weekend at 2-4 overall and 2-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Beavers sit in fourth in the North Division with a 1-1 divisional record. In the overall conference lineup, BSU takes tenth.
* Last weekend, the Beavers fell to the (RV/25) Northern State University Wolves, 16-9, after struggling to score in the first three quarters. Efforts between Mack Molander and Zavery Guerra earned the Beavers’ first touchdown of the game with just 2:10 remaining. A minute later, Kyle Nadler added three more points for the Beavers with a 32-yard field goal to finish the scoring.
* Averaging 98.60 rushing yards per game, Connor Carver leads the team with a total of 493 net yards and nine rushing touchdowns. Through the air, Carver is 4-8-0 for 28 yards.
* Leading the pass game for BSU is Bart McAninch, going 53-103-3 and totaling 831 yards and four touchdowns. McAninch averages 138.50 yards per game and has helped the Beavers to 7.4 yards per pass and 178.3 per game.
* On the receiving side of the Beavers’ offense, Zavery Guerra leads with 298 yards on 19 catches with an average of 15.68 yards per catch and one touchdown. Guerra is averaging 49.67 yards per game.
* Caden Bolte leads the Beaver defense with 41 total tackles this season. He has marked 29 solo and 12 assisted, grabbing 15 of the solo hits in the past two games. In the back field, Joey Funderburk and Tavon Rice lead the team with a combined 10.5 tackles for a loss of 38 yards, including 5.0 sacks for 28 yards.
* Taking second on the team in scoring is kicker Kyle Nadler who has marked 27 points with four field goals and 15 PAT kicks.
* The Beavers will have next week off from competition before heading to University of Jamestown on Oct. 24. BSU will then host Minnesota State University Moorhead and University of Minnesota Duluth before finishing the season at University of Mary.

WSC NOTES

* (RV) Wayne State travels to the Chet with a 5-1 overall record and 4-1 in the NSIC. The Wildcats hold second in the overall rankings in the conference and in the South Division.
* The Wildcats single loss came from then No. 15 University of Minnesota Duluth on September 12. WSC fell 20-13 after being unable to find the endzone in the second and third quarters. Since then, WSC has taken down Jamestown, Southwest Minnesota State University and Winona State University.
* Fifth-year running back Dawson Forgy leads the Wildcats on the ground with 466 net yards on 74 attempts. Forgy averages 93.20 rushing yards per game, taking 28th in the NCAA, and 6.3 per carry, 32nd in the NCAA. He ranks 15th in the conference for total points scored with 36.
* The Wildcats’ pass/receive game is led by quarterback Brady McGill and receiver Keaten Bonderson. McGill has gone 90-165-1 this season, throwing for 1222 yards and eight touchdowns. On the receiving end, Bonderson ranks 12th in the NCAA and first in the NSIC for yards per reception with 22.25. He has marked a total of 445 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
* WSC’s defensive game is led by Kaden Johnson and Clyde Hinton who combine for 89 tackles this season. Included in this is 10.0 tackles for a loss of 38 yards and 3.5 sacks for 20 yards. Johnson has marked four breakups while Hinton has three PBUs, one interception, two forced fumbles and a blocked kick.
* The Wildcats will also enjoy a bye week next week before traveling to Minnesota State University Mankato on Oct. 24.
