The Bemidji State men’s hockey team wrapped up a conference roadtrip to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan Saturday night with a 3-1 win. The Beavers were led by junior captain Matt Prapavessis who netted a goal and an assist to complete the sweep over the Lakers.
The weekend sweep was the first for the Beavers since back-to-back victories at University of Alabama-Huntsville on October 25th and 26th.
Radoslav Illo and Markus Gerbrandt score the other Beaver goals.
Freshman goaltender Jesse Wilkins completed the night stopping 34 of 35 shots faced. He picked up his second victory of the season and improves to 2-1-3.
The Beavers are now 7-11-6 overall and 7-7-4 in WCHA play.
Next weekend, BSU takes a break from WCHA play to take on the University of North Dakota in a home and home series. Friday night’s face-off is at 7:37pm at the Sanford Center in Bemidji. Saturday night’s game is at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks at 7:07pm.
