The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team (9-15, 5-15 NSIC) concludes the regular season Feb. 21-22 on the road at University of Minnesota Duluth (12-12, 9-11 NSIC) and St. Cloud State University (14-10, 10-10 NSIC) in a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games. BSU and UMD are set to begin at 6 p.m. Friday, while Saturday’s contest versus SCSU is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
The Beavers snapped an eight-game losing streak Feb. 15 with a 52-49 victory to wrap the home season, as it defeated Concordia-St. Paul (who were receiving votes nationally). BSU fell the night before to No. 21 Minnesota State 73-54. The Beavers finished their home slate 7-6 to mark the first above .500 home record since 2007-08 (7-4). Entering the final weekend of the regular season, senior Kate Warmack is third in the NSIC in blocks (2.0 bpg), fourth in rebounding (9.9 rpg), fourth in field goal percentage (52.5%) and 14th in scoring (15.5 ppg). Senior Morgan Lee ranks sixth in scoring in the NSIC with 16.9 points per game, 10th in 3-point percentage (40.0%) and sits 12th in steals (1.8 spg). Freshman guard Hanna Zerr is 14th in assist/turnover ratio (0.97 ratio).
