The Bemidji State men’s basketball team (18-6, 15-5 NSIC) concludes the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season Feb. 21-22 when it travels to University of Minnesota Duluth (10-14, 8-12 NSIC) and St. Cloud State University (17-7, 13-7 NSIC). Friday’s game is scheduled for 8 p.m., while Saturday’s game is set for a 6 p.m. tip.
The Beavers went 1-1 in an NSIC home weekend Feb. 14-15. BSU lost 79-74 to No. 18 Minnesota State Friday before posting a 90-77 victory against Concordia-St. Paul. BSU has a share of the NSIC North Title, as it owns a two-game lead on SCSU and MSU Moorhead, a win clinches the outright title. BSU reached the 18 win mark for the sixth time in program history and third consecutive season, a milestone never accomplished in the 92-years of BSU men’s basketball. The Beavers have shot over 50 percent from the field 14 times this season and lead the league in the field goal percentage (52.0%). BSU leads the league in 3-point percentage (41.7%) and free throw percentage (76.6%). Individuals leading the NSIC: Brock Lutes in scoring (21.5 ppg), Maxie Rosenbloom in rebounding (9.5 rpg) and field goal percentage (63.2%), Jake Schalow in 3-point percentage (56.2%).
