Mary Elmquist (So., Elk River, Minn.) was among a group of eight players tied for 12th place individually, carding a 10-over-par 82 to open the 2014-15 season Friday at the Cobber Open. The Bemidji State University women’s golf team placed eighth in the event.
Other players competing for BSU in the season-opening event were: Monica Wold (Jr., Crookston, Minn.); Paige Tompkins (Jr., Milnor, N.D.); newcomer Katy Woelfel (Fr., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and captain Kelly Blair (Jr., International Falls, Minn.).
The Cobber Invite served as the first of five events during the fall portion of the BSU women’s golf team’s 2014-15 season. The Beavers continue play Sept. 13-14 when they travel to Tartan Park Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn. to compete in the 36-hole Concordia University-St. Paul Holiday Inn Invitational.
