The Bemidji State University men’s golf team carded a 316 (+28) Monday to finish the 36-hole St. Cloud State University Fall Invitational in 10th place at +48 (308-316–624). Senior Andrew Benson (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led the way for the Beavers, carding a six-over-par 150 (75-75) to tie for 19th individually.

BSU finished ninth in the 14-team field at the conclusion of 10 holes Sunday with 308 (+20), but slipped on day two to finish the event four strokes behind University of Sioux Falls (620/+44) for ninth and 50 shots off the pace set by team champion Minnesota State University, Mankato (287-287–574/-2).

Led by individual medalist Ross Miller, who fired a four-under-par 68 in the final round to finish the tournament at 138 (-6), the Mavericks earned a seven-shot victory in the event. The host, SCSU was second at +5 (288-293—581).

The Beavers return to action Sept. 29-30 when they travel to The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minn. to participate in the first two rounds of the unique 72-hole Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship. The final 36 holes will take place April 12-13 at Quarry Oaks Golf Club in Omaha, Neb.
