Sarah Stram (So., F, Elk Grove Village, Ill.) scored twice to lift the Bemidji State University soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory at University of Mary Saturday at MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, N.D.
The Bemidji State University soccer team was unable to generate any offense Sunday, dropping a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match at Minot State University, 1-0. The Beavers fall to 3-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in league play.
Out shot 12-10 in the match, BSU goalkeeper Sonja Barr (Sr., Duluth, Minn.) stopped four of five Minot State shots on goal, but the BSU attack was unable to find the back of the net.
Locked in a scoreless tie at the half, Minot State broke the deadlock in the 59th minute when Chloe Melton slipped a shot past Barr. An assist was credited to Kristin Long.
Bemidji state, continues its road swing next weekend. The Beavers will travel to Mankato, Minn. for a 3 p.m. match at Minnesota State University, Mankato Friday, before a trip to St. Paul, Minn. for a 1 p.m. Sunday match up at Concordia University-St. Paul to wrap up BSU’s eight-game road stretch to open the season.
