Juniors Emily Turner (Windom, Minn.) and Nicole Crummy (Argyle, Minn.) paced the Bemidji State University cross country Team Saturday at the Jimmie Invitational. The duo finished just four seconds apart in 22nd and 23rd place, respectively, as the Beavers places sixth in the meet.
Turner finished the 5,000-meter race in 20:07 to trim nearly two minutes for her 2013 time (21:59) on the same course. Crummy’s 20:11 Saturday, was an improvment of 2:18 from a year ago and narrowly missed her best time of the season (20:09.2).
The Beavers finished the event with 133 points, 103 points behind team champion, University of Mary.
The Beavers are idle this week, but return to action Oct. 24 when they travel to Bismarck, N.D. to compete in the Mike Thorson Invitational. The starting gun is set for 4 p.m.
