The Bemidji State women’s hockey team defeated the University of North Dakota 4-1 Friday and 2-1 Saturday to complete the sweep of the first series of the season between the two teams.
Friday’s Beaver win was the first over UND since 2011 and the sweep was the first since 2007.
The Beavers 4 goals on Friday was the most goals scored by BSU against UND since 2008.
Friday’s top line of Alex Citrowske, Stephanie Anderson and Kaitlyn Tougas scored three of the four Beaver goals, while Rachael Kelly added the other one.
Saturday’s goals were scored by Kristin Huber and Hanna Moher.
Goaltender Brittni Mowat finished the weekend with a total of 57 saves while her teammates helped out in front of her blocking a total of 48 shots.
Saturday’s win was Mowat’s 15th career win.
BSU improves to 7-4-1 overall and 3-4-1 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play.
The Beavers have next weekend off and return to the ice November 27-28 when it hosts Minnesota Duluth.
