BSU will be getting a veteran goalie to replace Matt Dalton…but not this year. Jase Weslosky is transferring in from St. Cloud, but will have to sit out a year before he can play. I had learned about this last week, but didn’t hear whether or not he would be in town (and enrolled) by now until tonight.
Jase Weslosky can play. Anyone who has watched SCSU in the past several years knows that. With the departure of Dalton, this leaves BSU with one tested goalie for next year (first in the WCHA). If any of the three goalies this year step up, great…next year is taken care of. If not, BSU has an option for their first year in the WCHA…and with a WCHA-tested goalie to boot!
With hockey, you never know what to expect from a goalie until you’ve seen them in action (and thrown feet-first to the fire). Here’s hoping that this year’s trio can get the job done this year…and beyond.
