The Bemidji State University men’s golf team returns to action this weekend as it travels to Ashland, Neb. to compete in Augustana College’s Quarry Oaks Collegiate Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole event marks BSU’s second competition of the spring season and its first since a 14th-place finish at the David Falconer Memorial event in Russellville, Ark., March 9-10.
Senior Andrew Benson, led the Beavers at the Falconer turning in a six-over-par 150 (76-74) to tie for 34th place individually.
In 2014, BSU placed ninth at Quarry Oaks. Led by Benson, who carded rounds of 79 and 78 to tie for 13th individually at +13, Bemidji State finished the event with a 663 (+99), 64 shots behind first place St. Cloud State University (299-300—599 / +35).
