Bemidji State University baseball and University of Sioux Falls ended its weekend action Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader from Harmodon Field. The Cougars took both games over BSU by scores of 5-3 and 18-7.
Bemidji State, now 7-16, 4-4 NSIC, will be back in action Tuesday, March 31 for its 2015 home opener against Northern State University. The doubleheader is set to get underway at 1 p.m. from BSU Baseball Field. Listen to the games on the Beaver Radio Network on 1300 The Sports Fox.
Bemidji State baseball’s Scott Litchy has earned Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honors as Player of the Week for March 30, announced today by league officials.
The Avon, Minn. native, appeared in all four games against University of Sioux Falls last weekend as he recorded a .529 batting average going 9-for-17 at the plate, including two doubles, one triple and two home runs. His nine hits was tied for the most in the NSIC last week, while his 19 total bases and 10 RBI were second best.
Litchy marked back-to-back home runs against the Cougars in game two Saturday with a three-run bomb and followed with a grand slam. He recorded six runs scored with a season-high eight RBI coming in one game against the Cougars.
