Following a 3-0-0 week of nonconference action, Bemidji State University soccer players Sarah Stram and Anna Fobbe, have been selected Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively.
Stram led the way for the Beavers offensively. The junior scored three goals, with two standing as game-winners, to go with a game-winning assist in overtime of Friday’s 1-0 double-overtime victory. She posted 16 shots on goal in three matches played, including a career-high eight shots on net in a 4-0 victory over Northwest Missouri State University Sunday. Now with 10 career game-winning goals, BSU is 17-2-0 when Stram scores a goal.
Fobbe posted a 3-0-0 record in net, making 18 saves and posting three straight shutouts to finish the week with a 0.00 goals against average and a perfect 1.000 save percentage. She finished the week riding a 339:36 shutout streak stretching back four matches to a 2-1 victory over University of Minnesota Crooskton, Sept. 3. The freshman is 4-0-0 on the season.
BSU, which improved to 4-0-0 overall returns its focus to Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Saturday when it hosts University of Mary at 1 p.m.
