The Bemidji State University soccer team has been ranked tenth in the first NCAA Central Region poll of the 2015 season.
The Beavers, now 9-5-0 overall and 6-5-0 in NSIC play, continue their five-match road stretch with a trip south for a pair of conference matches this weekend. BSU will face Winona State University at 1 p.m. Saturday and will wrap up the weekend with a 2 p.m. match at Upper Iowa University Sunday.
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference is home to five of the top 10 in this week’s poll, including top-ranked Minnesota State University, Mankato.
The top six teams in the region will advance to the NCAA regional tournament Nov. 13- 15 and 20- 22. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the MIAA, GAC and NSIC postseason tournaments, with the remaining three spots awarded on an at-large basis.
The 2015 NCAA Division II soccer semifinals and championship will be hosted by the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fla. Dec. 3-5.
The BSU Soccer team travels to Upper Iowa and Winona State this weekend.
