The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team closes out its non-conference schedule against Northland College in BSU Gymnasium. The Beavers (3-0, 0-0 NSIC) come off three consecutive home wins to start the season in Head Coach Chelsea DeVille’s first year at the helm.
Bemidji State and Northland meet for the second time in the series history.
The Beavers won the only meeting, 97-34, Nov. 18, 2014. After close play in the first half, BSU went on a 14-2 run to enter halftime up, 43-24. Hanna Zerr led the team in scoring with 19 points, followed by Aimee Pelzer with 13, Tatum Sheley with 12 and Seirra Senske with 11. Senske and Mikayla Larson led the team with eight rebounds.
Bemidji State comes off a 77-46 win Saturday against Valley City State University.
The Beavers’ lock-down defense held the Vikings leading scorer, Georgia Williams, who averaged 18.3 points per game, to just three points on three free-throw attempts. BSU took a 47-22 lead into halftime before making a fourth quarter push to solidify the win.
Pelzer led the team with 17 points, her second consecutive game leading the Beavers in scoring.
Katie Miller added 10 rebounds, one shy of her career-high, to give the Beavers a 42-27 rebound advantage.
