The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team begins two consecutive home weekend series while hosting Northern State University and Minnesota State University Moorhead in the BSU Gymnasium, Jan. 22-23. The Beavers (6-10, 2-10 NSIC) face off against the Wolves (13-4, 9-3 NSIC) at 6 p.m. Friday before tipping off versus the Dragons (12-3, 9-3 NSIC) at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Beavers and Wolves meet for the 62nd time in the series history, led by NSU, 51-10. Northern State has won five of the last seven meetings, while Bemidji State last nabbed a win Jan. 26, 2013, a 64-57 decision at home.
Bemidji State and MSU Moorhead tip off for the 101st time in the series, as the Dragons lead the record, 61-39. BSU’s most recent win versus MSUM came Dec. 2, 2011, a 75-68 victory in Moorhead, Minn.
Bemidji State ranks ninth in the NSIC with 69.2 points per game. The team ranks fourth with 34.5 percent (109-316) from behind the arc, ninth with 70.6 percent (226-320) from the free throw line and 13th with 37.9 percent (386-1,018) from the field. The Beavers are grabbing 38.8 rebounds per game, ranking 12th in the NSIC.
