The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team finishes home action against University of Mary Friday and Minot State University Saturday at the BSU Gymnasium. The Beavers (10-12, 7-11 NSIC) will celebrate Senior Day for three seniors: guard DJ Anderson, forward Irvin Womack and guard Kaylor Zimmerman.
The Beavers and Marauders meet for the 21st time since the series opener Dec. 18, 1971, a 92-87 win by U-Mary. The Marauders have taken the past three matchups against the Beavers, including a 92-80 decision Jan. 3. Junior guard Elijah Valdez scored a career-high 16 points in the first meeting with U-Mary.
Bemidji State leads the series against Minot State, 11-6, as the two programs first met Dec. 28, 1967. During the first meeting of the season, a 77-73 win by MSU, junior center Ben Best scored 24 points while Womack scored a career-high 17.
The Beavers enter the weekend with a 11-13 record overall and a 6-12 mark in the NSIC. MSU is 1-8 on the road this season.
