The Bemidji State Track and Field team opened up its 2016 outdoor season at the University of Mary Saturday.
Phillie Bacon owned the top finish of the day for the Beavers as she was runner up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time 12 minutes, 22.75 seconds.
Notable Performances
Senior mid-distance runner Nicole Crummy set a personal-best time in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:03.50, good for an eighth place finish out of 23 competitors.
Freshman Kaitlyn Christianson finished in fourth place in the discus throw with a toss of 116-feet, six-inches.
Bemidji State travels to St. Paul, Minn. April 16 to compete in the Holst Invitational on the campus of Concordia University-St. Paul.
