The trip to Huntsville went MUCH better than the first trip down. The only problem was we were there for a week prior to leaving for the CHA Tournament.
We did manage to do some fun things while there, though.
Of course, I got to eat at Dreamland BBQ a LOT!
I got to do lunch at a Five Guys Burgers and Fries!
The whole team went to Nashville one day and went to a Predators game. The trip to Nashville, though, was highlighted by a trip to Tootsies. If you’ve never been to Nashville, I urge you to go. I despise country music…but the trip was great.
Tootsies is one of the most famous places in Nashville. If you’ve ever made it as a country singer, you’ve played at Tootsies. There are two stages (and the bar is only about a thousand square feet!) that have music all the time. Let’s not mince words…it’s a dive bar…but it has so much character.
There are “publicity” shots (most of them are signed) of every singer that’s ever played there…tacked up on the walls!
The bathroom is only 3 feet wide…by ten feet long. I happened to walk in right after another guy.
So, there are the two of us…doing what you normally do in a bathroom…when we notice that we’re not alone! Mind you, this isn’t like the bathroom at a five star restaurant…it has leaky pipes…rust stains on the porcelain, and a crappy false ceiling.
So, the only thing that came into my mind was, “who the heck is that guy…and what is he doing in here?”
Turns out, the guy is a “bathroom attendant”. Have I made it clear enough that this “can” is a dive!!!???
As I’m standing at there, the attendant is asking me questions…mainly small talk, but still asking questions. I’ve never really carried on a conversation while standing in the bathroom, so I was a little uneasy.
He asked me if I was there with my girlfriend or wife…I said, “No”…so he opened the bathroom door (while I was standing at the urinal), and yells out the door…”this guy is here all by himself ladies!”
I finished doing my business, and the “Attendant” offers me a clean towel to wash my hands with. I washed my hands…gave him a tip…and got out of there as fast as possible.
All this, and I still want to go back to Nashville some day!
