What a difference a year makes! In the 2009 Midwest Regional, not many people were paying attention to BSU prior to the first game other than the Notre Dame people.
That changed in 2010. From what I can remember, there were about double the number of people in the day-before-game press conference this year compared to last year.
I remember one guy this year who just couldn’t get over how fast the tempo of the practice was for BSU. He was insistent that BSU wanted to send “a message” to Michigan by how fast their practice was conducted.
I kept trying to tell him that he shouldn’t read anything in to that…that the tempo was a normal occurrence.
He didn’t believe me. He asked John McRae from the paper. John, too, said it wasn’t a big deal. This guy didn’t believe John…so he asked Tom in the press conference. Tom, too, said that it’s a normal occurrence.
So, this guy keeps asking Tom about it…insisting that there was some hidden meaning behind it…that nobody would work that hard in practice the day before the National Tournament begins….
I guess not everyone knows that working hard is what makes Beaver Hockey what it is!
