The Bemidji State University volleyball lost its contest with No. 1 Concordia-St. Paul University Saturday afternoon, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-15). The Beavers (5-8, 1-4 NSIC) were led by sophomore Jessica Reega who tied for the team lead with six kills in the match and also had a team high .158 hitting percentage.
As a team, the Beavers hit .043 during the match with 23 kills but couldn’t stop the Golden Bears attack which hit at a .271 efficiency and tallied 44 kills. Bemidji State totaled 30 digs and had five team blocks while Concordia-St. Paul’s defense totaled 38 digs and also had five team blocks.
Reega, Jessica Yost and Amanda Tronick all tied for the team lead with six kills while sophomore Heather Fletcher added two and hit .125 in the match. Junior Jordyn Koehn led BSU with nine assists while Freshman Shelby Haney added eight.
The Beavers also lost to Minnesota Crookston and MSU-Mankato last week.
Bemidji State will be on the road next weekend and travels to Winona, Minn., and Fayette, Iowa to face Winona State University and Upper Iowa University, Sep. 30 and Oct. 1, respectively.
