The Bemidji State University soccer team will split a home and away game this weekend. BSU will face Northern State University on Friday at home at 3 p.m. at Chet Anderson Stadium. They will then head to Minnesota State University Moorhead for a match up with the Dragons on Sunday at 1 p.m.
After the home game on Friday, the Beavers will play three straight games on the road, BSU is currently 3-1 when playing away from home.
The Beavers are coming off a weekend in which they split between Minnesota State Mankato and Concordia-St. Paul. On Saturday BSU got a huge win when they defeated the Mavericks 3-1. Once again it was the striker Bayley Ertl who got the Beavers on the board first, her teammate Sarah Stram punched in her 3rd goal on the season, Minnesota States Alesha Duccini opened up the second half with a goal to make things interesting but once again Bayley Ertl sealed the game for the Beavers by scoring her second goal of the game.
On Sunday the beavers lost a tough 1-0 game to Concordia-St. Paul. The Golden Bears got on the board in the first with a goal by Jordan Rowan-Stafford and they never looked back after that. BSU out shot CSP 23-11 they had 11 on goal and hit the post three times but just couldn’t put anything away. Beaver goalkeeper Anna Fobbe played phenomenal in net she turned away 4 shots and kept BSU in the game.
