After a series victory at No. 11 Minnesota State University, Nov. 11-12, the Bemidji State University men’s ice hockey team has climbed to 13 in the USCHO.com top 20 poll, while breaking into the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll at No. 14 after four straight weeks of garnering votes.
This week marks the seventh time the Beavers have appeared in the USCHO.com poll in 2016-17 and the 139th time since making a move to the NCAA Division I level for the 1999-2000 season. The Beavers have reached as high as No. 4 in the poll, Dec. 12, 2009, and have been a top 20 team for 39 weeks.
This week the Beavers earned 431 points to climb two spots in the USCHO.com poll, while the University of Denver claimed the top spot, garnering 26 first place votes and 970 points.
Last Saturday night, Senior Captain Nate Arentz scored the game winner in overtime.
The Beavers, now 9-2-1 overall, continues WCHA play this week as it hosts Northern Michigan University for a two-game series. Both games are set for a 7:07 p.m. opening face offs at Sanford Center.
