The Series
Bemidji State is 7-65-7 all-time against Minnesota in a series that dates back to 1998. The Beavers are 3-34-4 in Minneapolis with Bemidji State’s last win at Ridder Arena coming Nov. 1, 2014 in a 1-0 game. Head coach Jim Scanlan is 3-7-1 in three seasons against the Gophers while Minnesota’s Brad Frost is 33-4-4 against the Beavers.
The Beavers hosted the Gophers earlier this season and split the WCHA opening series. BSU fell in game one, 3-1 but senior Brittni Mowat led the Beaves to a 2-0 shutout in game two. The win snapped a five-game losing streak against Minnesota.
Bemidji State University women’s hockey freshman Haley Mack was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week, Tuesday for her efforts last weekend. The East Grand Forks, Minn., native led the Beavers with three assists in a 6-2 victory over St. Cloud State University, Nov. 18. Mack led all freshman in the WCHA in scoring with her three assists and tied for second with all players with three points. She also tied for the team lead by going +2 and totaled 10 shots against the Huskies.
