The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team continues its month-long road trip by traveling to face Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Beavers (5-10-1, 3-10-1 WCHA) will see the Mavericks (3-11-2, 1-10-1 WCHA) for the first team this season, the final remaining Western Collegiate Hockey Association member the Beavers have yet to face.
The Beavers will travel to Mankato, Minn., this weekend to face the Mavericks for the first time this season. The Beavers are 35-24-10 all-time against Minnesota State and are currently on a nine-game winning streak against the Mavericks.
Bemidji State swept MSU in all four games last season including a pair of 3-1 and 2-1 victories in Mankato. Lauren Miller led current Beavers with a goal and an assist in the road series while Summer Thibodeau added a goal and Ciscely Nelson tallied an assist.
Lauren Miller is the active leading scorer against Minnesota State and has tallied nine points (4g-5a) in 12 career games. Junior Alexis Joyce follows with seven points (2g-5a) in eight career games. Head coach Jim Scanlan is undefeated against the Mavericks and holds an 8-0-0 record while Maverick’s head coach John Harrington is 0-4-0 after one season.
