Bemidji State’s magical 2018 season came to an end Sunday after its only loss of the year. BSU finished with a program record 18 wins and an 18-1-2 record, the program’s first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season title and its first NCAA Tournament victory.
Defending national champion University of Central Missouri got a goal early in each half and kept the Bemidji State University attack at bay, earning a 2-0 victory to advance to the NCAA Central Regional Championship.
In goal for BSU, senior Anna Fobbe made four saves. She finished the season with a record of 18-1-2, setting BSU’s single-season records for wins.
With the win, Central Missouri advances to the third round and the final 16 teams and will face Central Oklahoma University for the Central Regional Championship, Nov. 15 in Allendale, Mich.
