It would take the fifth longest game in program history to decide a victor for the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team and No. 9 University of Minnesota Duluth opening game of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Quarterfinals. Unfortunately, the Beavers (15-17-3) were on the wrong end of the game-winning goal as the Bulldogs (17-10-6) scored with 9:32 left in the overtime period to earn the game one victory by a score of 2-1.
Bemidji State looks to keep its postseason alive Saturday afternoon when the two teams meet again for game two at 4:07 p.m. If needed, both teams will play game three Sunday at 4:07 p.m. Tune into our pregame coverage beginning at 3:30 p.m. on 94.3 FM The Legends in Bemidji or online at
