Volleyball begins three match homestand by hosting Minot State and U-Mary
After a four-match road trip, the Bemidji State University volleyball team returns home to host Minot State University and University of Mary to begin a three-match homestand. The Beavers (3-11, 0-6 NSIC), who are on a 10-match losing streak, begin the weekend by hosting the Beavers of Minot State (1-14, 0-6 NSIC) Friday at 6 p.m., followed by the Marauders (1-14, 0-6 NSIC) Saturday at 1 p.m.
Minot State: Friday’s Beaver Battle will be just the 12th meeting between the two programs with Minot State holding a slight advantage in the all-time series record at 6-5. Minot State has had the best of BSU as of late and has won four consecutive matches beginning in 2017. Bemidji State and Minot State met two times last season and BSU fell 3-1 at home and 3-0 in Minot, N.D. Bemidji State head coach Kevin Ulmer is 1-4 all-time coaching against Minot State.
U-Mary: Saturday’s meeting between the Marauders and Beavers will be the 28th of the all-time series dating back to 1987. Bemidji State holds the all-time series record at 15-12 and are winners of the past two meetings after defeating the Marauders twice last season. The Beavers earned a 3-1 win over U-Mary at home and defeated the Marauders 3-1 again a month later. Bemidji State head coach Kevin Ulmer is 3-1 all-time coaching against U-Mary.
