BSU Women’s Golf finishes sixth at Upper Iowa Invite
Bemidji State University women’s golf senior Lauren Stockmoe paced the BSU Women’s Golf team by carding 171 (89-82) and tied for 13th individually as the Beavers finished sixth at the Upper Iowa Invite at the Sunnyside Golf Course in Waterloo, Iowa Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers totaled a team score of 734 (383-351) including a 32-stroke improvement on day two to finish 35 strokes behind fifth place, Minot State University.
Upper Iowa University took home the team title after firing a team score of 658 (342-316) and finished 18 strokes in front of second place, Winona State University (348-328).
Freshman Mollie Albrecht tied for 20th individually and finished behind Stockmoe after firing a score of 177 (92-85) in her first collegiate tournament while Taiylor Ellingson followed with a 185 (98-87) placed 27th individually. Morgan Sammon (104-100=204) and Jocelyn Nyblom (108-97=205) rounded out the Beavers’ top-five scorers while Maddy Sawyer (106-95=201) and Grace Van Brocklin (110-108=218) competed as individuals.
Bemidji State will travel to Wayne, Neb., April 11-12 to compete at the Wayne State invite for its next action.
