BSU Baseball travels west for seven games at Tucson Invitational
Beavers wrap-up non-conference play with seven games over five days in Arizona
The Bemidji State University Baseball team concludes its non-conference season this weekend and will now make the trip west to Tucson, Ariz., to compete at the Tucson Invitational Games from Tuesday, Mar. 7 through Saturday. The Beavers will play seven games over the five-day span beginning Tuesday against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponent Southwest Minnesota State University (2-1) for a non-conference battle. Bemidji State will also face Dakota Wesleyan University (0-5) and Walsh University (Ohio) (0-7) for a pair of doubleheaders Wednesday and Thursday and then Malone University (6-3) and Dickinson State University (6-6) for a pair of single games Friday and Saturday.
Bemidji State enters the week’s action 0-8 in its first two series of the season. The Beavers are batting .234 as a team through their first eight games ranking 14th in the NSIC and hold a team ERA of 13.42 to also rank 14th.
Junior Jack Munson is leading the team batting .333 and an OPS of 1.020. In 33 at bats he has 11 hits with three doubles, one triple, two home runs and leads the team with eight RBI.
The Bemidji State pitching staff is led by senior Logan Barrick who has posted a 5.40 ERA over 11.2 innings but has yet to earn a decision. Junior Will Lavin leads the team with 11 strikeouts and is 0-2 with an ERA of 8.00 over 9.0 innings.
